Il dreamcatcher è un oggetto ancestrale, presente nelle culture native del continente americano, utilizzato come strumento di relazione con il sacro, ovvero quelle potenze che l’uomo ha avvertito come superiori a sé. Ero affascinato da come, attraverso dei materiali poveri e una lavorazione minuziosa ma molto semplice e ripetitiva, si potesse arrivare alla geometria frattale. Mi interessa questa ambivalenza e la naturalezza con cui si manifesta. Facendo riferimento a quella letteratura, filosofia, che teorizza la vita reale come sogno o viceversa, ho immaginato una scultura fatta di un solo materiale che si produce nello spazio in due modi opposti pur essendo lo stesso corpo. Sul piano orizzontale una massa disordinata subisce la forza di gravità e si attorciglia su se stessa. Sul piano verticale diviene una forma geometrica ordinata e complessa, libera dalla forza di gravità. La componente che intercorre tra questi due momenti e li unisce è la tensione. Questi due elementi contrapposti, tenuti insieme dalla tensione in un unico corpo sono per me il sognatore.

The dreamcatcher is an ancestral object found in the native cultures of the American continent, used as a means to relate to the sacred, that is, those powers that man has felt to be superior to himself. I was fascinated by how, through poor materials and meticulous but very simple and repetitive crafting, it could be possible to reach a fractal geometry. I am interested in this ambivalence and the naturalness with which it manifests itself. Referring to that literature, philosophy, that theorizes real life as a dream or vice versa, I imagined a sculpture made of a single material that is produced in space in two opposite ways even though it is the same body. On the horizontal plane a disordered mass undergoes the force of gravity and twists around itself. On the vertical plane it becomes an ordered and complex geometric shape, free from the force of gravity. The component that intervenes between these two moments and unites them is tension. These two opposing elements held together by tension into a single body represent, to me, the dreamer.
